To prepare liquid culture using our premix, start by measuring 1 level scoop (approximately 15–18 grams) of powder. Add this to 1 liter of room-temperature distilled water in a clean container. Stir thoroughly until the powder is completely dissolved. Once the solution is fully mixed, pour it into an autoclavable vessel, such as a lab-grade media bottle or any container rated for pressure sterilization.
Sterilize the liquid culture media by placing the vessel into a pressure cooker or autoclave and processing it at 15 PSI for 20 minutes. This step is crucial for eliminating contaminants and ensuring a sterile environment for your culture. After sterilization, allow the vessel to cool completely to room temperature before moving to the next step. Introducing live culture while the liquid is still hot can kill or damage the spores or mycelium.
Once cooled, you can inject your live culture into the sterilized media using proper sterile technique. It’s important to minimize exposure to open air during this step to prevent contamination. After inoculation, store your liquid culture at room temperature in a dark area, such as a cabinet or drawer, and monitor it over the next several days for signs of healthy mycelial growth.
